OCAA cross country champion Mary Strain (Fort Frances) of Cambrian took the silver medal at nationals. Strain finished the five kilometre race in a time of 18:24, thirteen seconds behind the winner. It marks the best finish at nationals for a Cambrian runner, topping Emily Marcolini's bronze medal last year. Strain is also the second Cambrian runner to earn an individual medal at provincials and nationals the same season.
