Dave Hardie was the coach of the Fleming College (Peterborough) men’s and women’s soccer team’s beginning in 1970 and held the post until 1995, covering a span of twenty-five years.
Hardie led his men’s team to three OCAA Championship silver medals, including back-to-back seasons in 1982-83 and 1983-84. He captured a bronze medal in 1987-88 and a fourth place finish in 1986-87. In 1980-81 his team compiled a perfect 7-0 record, and repeated the accomplishment in 1983-84 going 6-0-2. In 1987-88, Hardie was named OCAA Coach of the Year.
The woman’s program began play during the 1985-86 season and under the tutelage of Hardie, the team earned a bronze medal at the OCAA Championships in their first season of competition. He would go on to win another bronze medal in 1987-88 and cap off a stellar coaching career by capturing his fourth and final silver medal at the 1993-94 OCAA Championships.
