In his rookie season of 1993-94, George Frempong established himself as one of the top players in the OCAA. Playing for the Sheridan Bruins, Frempong led the team in scoring with 17.2 points per game, and was selected as a CCAA All-Canadian. The Bruins advanced to the OCAA Championships that year, and Frempong was named to the Championship all-star team, a feat her would repeat in 1995 and 1996.
Frempong had his best season in 1995-96 when he led the league in scoring with 23.4 ppg, while being selected a first team all-star and CCAA All-Canadian. The Bruins would go on to win a silver medal at the Provincial Championships.
In 2000, Frempong was selected to the OCAA Men’s Basketball All-Millennium team.
