A member of the Humber Hawks men’s basketball team for four seasons, George McNeil was named an OCAA all-star and a CCAA All-Canadian in 1986-87 and 1987-88. In his final year at Humber, McNeil and the Hawks won the OCAA Championship and then won the silver medal at the nationals. That same year, he was selected as Humber’s Male Athlete of the Year.

Over his career, McNeil amassed 1,148 points, which currently has him in ninth place in OCAA all-time scoring. At Humber, McNeil was inducted into their Hall of Fame, and has had his jersey number retired. In 2000 he was named to the OCAA Men’s Basketball All-Millennium team.
