Mike Pluimers was a standout on the Sir Sandford Fleming (Peterborough Campus) men’s volleyball team, leading the Knights to the play-offs in each of his two seasons. In the 1997-98 season Pluimers led his team to a silver medal finish at the OCAA championships. He was honoured as the championship MVP and named to the championship all-star team. In addition, Pluimers was an OCAA east region all-star in both of the years in which we competed and a CCAA All-Academic in the 1997-98 season.

Pluimers stayed on at Sir Sandford Fleming, coaching the men’s and women’s volleyball teams from 1998 to 2000. In 2000 Mike Pluimers was named to the OCAA All-Millennium Men’s Volleyball Team.
