Paul completed the Recreation and Leisure Course at Fanshawe College. He was a standout, three-sport athlete in Men’s Soccer, Men’s Doubles Badminton and Tennis. He was the back to back MVP for the soccer team in 1977-1978 and 1978-1979, in which both years they won the OCAA Provincial Championship. Paul also finished third on two different occasions (1977-1978 with Chris Pheonix and in 1978-1979 with Rob Marshall) at the West Regional Championships. Paul was the recipient of the Male Athlete of the Year award at Fanshawe College in 1979. There was no national program at this time.
Paul was recently inducted into the Wallaceburg Hall of Fame. He presently is the Head Coach of the Men’s Outdoor and Indoor Soccer team at Fanshawe College. This past fall (2008), Paul was also named the OCAA and CCAA Men’s Soccer Coach of the Year for the 2008-2009 Outdoor Men’s Soccer season. Paul was also the recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award at Fanshawe College for his contributions to society in a substantial way as well as achieving a great deal of career success. He is currently manager-area recreation service for the city of London.
