Rob Parnell had an excellent streak of wins during his career at Cambrian College, becoming an OCAA gold medalist with a victory in the Men's Doubles Championship in 1998. The following season in 1999 Parnell returned to the top of the podium with his partner and fellow Hall of Fame inductee Mike Kaytar.

Nationally, the duo of Parnell and Kaytar was unstoppable as the team was crowned national champions at the CCAA Men's Badminton Double championships in both 1998 and 1999.

Rob was named a member of the OCAA Men's Badminton All-Millennium Team.
