Rodney Alderdice joined Mohawk College in 1990 and started dominating the OCAA cross country races as soon as he arrived. Between 1990 and 1995 Alderdice collected three individual OCAA gold medals as well as two silver medals.

He was also named Mohawk Male Freshman of the Year in the 1990-91 season, also starting a run of four consecutive MVP honours for the Mountaineers.

Not only did he have personal success but he had team success winning OCAA gold, silver and bronze. Alderdice was named the Outstanding Male Athlete for Mohawk during the 1993-94 season.
