Sherry Metheringham-Simmons is a two-time Sheridan College Female Athlete of the Year award recipient. Her accomplishments as an athlete include winning two OCAA Women's Badminton Singles Championship gold medals in the 1989 and 1990 seasons.

Metheringham went on to earn a CCAA National Championship bronze medal in the 1990 season. A graduate from the Business program at Sheridan, Sherry capped off her athletic career for the Bruins being named a member of the OCAA Badminton All-Millennium Team.
