HUMBER'S KELLY NYHOF NAMED TO TEAM CANADA
TORONTO - Humber Hawks star middle Kelly Nyhof will represent Team Canada this summer as she was named to the national team earlier this morning.
TORONTO - Humber Hawks star middle Kelly Nyhof will represent Team Canada this summer as she was named to the national team earlier this morning.
Nyhof was the OCAA Player of the Year this past season and will look to make a big impact with Team Canada this summer as they have their sights set on qualifying for the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
This past season Kelly took home a slew of honours including:
- CCAA All Canadian
- OCAA Player of the Year
- West Division First-Team All-Star
- OCAA Scoring Champion
- Humber College Female Athlete of the Year
Kelly and the rest of the university age students on the team will travel to Kazan, Russia this summer to represent Canada at the FISU World University Games.
For the 2013 season, there will be no separate 'B' team program. Approximately 18-22 athletes will be selected to the Senior Women's 'A' team. Eligible athletes from the 'A' team will compete at the 2013 FISU Games in Russia.
