ANCASTER, Ont. - Of the 20 teams that began the 2017 OCAA Indoor Soccer Provincial Championships presented by belairdirect, only eight remain in contention going into Day 3 on Saturday.
The championships are taking place at Redeemer University College in Ancaster, Ont. After Day 2, 40 games have been played so far to determine the top two teams from each of the two pools advancing to the medal round.
On the women's side, Humber, St. Clair, Seneca and Fanshawe advanced to play another day while Humber, George Brown, St. Clair and Fanshawe made Day 3 on the men's side.
The final four teams from both the women's championship and men's championship will now turn their attention to the hardware. On Saturday, gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded as well as the Championship All-Stars and MVPs.
It all gets started at 9:30 a.m. when the women's semi-finals get underway. Fanshawe will square off against Humber, while Seneca will battle St. Clair.
At 11 a.m., the men's semi-finals begin with George Brown kicking off against Fanshawe, and Humber playing St. Clair.
The winners will move onto the gold medal matches (women at 12:30 p.m., men at 2 p.m.), while the losers will battle for bronze.
