OCAA STARS OF THE WEEK
TORONTO - The following student-athletes have been recognized by the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) for their accomplishments during the seven-day period ending Sunday, Nov. 24.

Student-athletes are nominated by their respective athletic departments.
Maddie Anderson
School: Mohawk
Program: Massage Therapy
Year of Eligibility: 4
Sport: Basketball
Hometown: Whitby, Ont.
Over the course of two games this past weekend Anderson averaged 24 points, six rebounds and five made threes. It was the second game of a back-to-back where the fourth-year guard truly shined. In a 78-68 victory over the defending OCAA champion Lambton Lions on Nov. 23, Anderson scored a career-high 30 points on 9-of-15 shooting and 6-of-9 from three. Anderson also had six made free throws and six rebounds in the contest. The Mohawk Mountaineers improved to 5-3 on the season with one game remaining before the break.
Carter Hummel
School: Canadore
Program: Electrical Techniques
Year of Eligibility: 1
Sport: Volleyball
Hometown: North Bay, Ont.
Hummel delivered two exceptional performances for the Canadore Panthers this weekend, playing a pivotal role in back-to-back straight sets sweeps on the road. Against the Durham Lords on Nov. 23, Hummel recorded four kills, adding one block and one dig, contributing a total of five points in the match. The following day against the Fleming Phoenix, Hummel was highly efficient in attack posting 10 kills on 14 attempts. Hummel also contributed defensively with two blocks and three digs, totalling a dozen points in the match.
Caleb Joosse
School: Redeemer
Program: Business Administration
Year of Eligibility: 4
Sport: Volleyball
Hometown: Peterborough, Ont.
Joosse demonstrated exceptional leadership and skill in guiding the Redeemer Royals to two crucial four-set wins this past week. Against Sheridan on Nov. 22, Joosse played four sets, showcasing offensive and defensive prowess with eight kills on 13 attacks (.615 kill percentage), three service aces, one dig, four blocks and 15 points. Joosse followed up this impressive performance the following day with another strong showing against St. Clair, recording seven kills on 11 attacks (.545 kill percentage), one service ace, two digs, three blocks and 11 points.
Dasia McDonald
School: Algonquin
Program: Business Administration
Year of Eligibility: 4
Sport: Basketball
Hometown: Napean, Ont.
The Algonquin Wolves completed their first semester schedule with a 67-39 victory on Nov. 23 over the Seneca Sting to remain undefeated at 7-0. McDonald had a big night for the Wolves finishing as the game's leading scorer with 19 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the field and 7-of-11 from the foul line. The fourth-year guard also added an impressive 10 steals for a double-double, five assists and three rebounds. McDonald currently leads all OCAA players with 42 steals and 40 assists. McDonald and the Wolves return to OCAA action in January.
Elizabeth McFarland
School: Durham
Program: Accounting - Business
Year of Eligibility: 1
Sport: Volleyball
Hometown: Courtice, Ont.
McFarland had a pair of incredibly impactful games last week in a four-set win over the Centennial Colts on Nov. 19 and a straight-sets sweep of the Canadore Panthers on Nov. 23. In the two matches, McFarland combined for 25 points with 20 kills, four stuff blocks and a service ace, including a team-high 13 kills in the Centennial match. The first-year outside hitter kept the rallies going with 18 digs on the week, split nearly evenly with eight against the Colts and 10 against the Panthers. The Durham Lords improved to 7-2 with the two victories.
Galdo Tutu
School: St. Clair
Program: Protection, Security & Investigation
Year of Eligibility: 3
Sport: Basketball
Hometown: Windsor, Ont.
Tutu put together two good performances off the bench in a pair of weekend wins for the St. Clair Saints this past weekend. In a comeback 96-89 victory over the Mohawk Mountaineers on Nov. 22, the third-year forward scored 13 points to go with five rebounds. Tutu scored another 18 points but added 10 rebounds for the double-double the following day propelling the Saints to a 102-70 win over the Niagara Knights. Tutu shot a combined 10-of-16 from the field in the two games which helped the Saints to an 8-0 record atop the West Division.
