Athletic Association (OCAA) basketball student-athletes of the week
for the period ending Sunday, Nov. 27.
MALE: Shane Rowe, Georgian
Second-year forward Shane Rowe (Barrie, Ont.)
earned a pair of double-doubles as Georgian split its road swing to
Ottawa this past weekend. Rowe scored 21 points and contributed a
game-high 16 rebounds in an 89-78 loss at Algonquin on Nov. 26.
Rowe then had a 30-point effort while grabbing 10 rebounds in an
86-55 win at La Cite. Both games were Rowe's first this season
after transferring to Georgian from George Brown.
FEMALE: Corina Bruni, Algoma
Third-year guard Corina Bruni (Sault Ste. Marie,
Ont.) scored 29 points while adding eight rebounds as Algoma handed
Fanshawe its first loss of the regular season by a 63-50 result on
Nov. 26. Bruni was the team's co-leader with nine points while
adding a game-high 10 rebounds in a 55-31 win over Mohawk on Nov.
25. Algoma (6-2) is tied with Fanshawe and Sheridan in the West
region standings with 12 points.
