ROGERS CENTRE HOSTS OUA-OCAA MEN'S BASEBALL ALL-STAR GAME
TORONTO - The top men's baseball student-athletes in Ontario University Athletics (OUA) and the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) will take the turf at Rogers Centre in Toronto this Saturday in the second annual OUA-OCAA Baseball All-Star Game.
TORONTO - The top men's baseball student-athletes in Ontario University Athletics (OUA) and the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) will take the turf at Rogers Centre in Toronto this Saturday in the second annual OUA-OCAA Baseball All-Star Game.
The longtime OUA event added a different element last year with the OCAA being included for the first time. Men's baseball was added to OCAA's portfolio of varsity sports during the 2013-14 season.
OUA prevailed 8-5 over OCAA at the inaugural 2014 all-star game.
Six members of the two-time OCAA champion St. Clair Saints will take the field at Rogers Centre, including OCAA player of the year Eric Cunningham (LaSalle, Ont.). He will be joined on Team OCAA by student-athletes from the Fanshawe Falcons, Durham Lords, George Brown Huskies, Humber Hawks and Seneca Sting.
Team OUA will be represented by six members of the defending OUA champion Brock Badgers, led by OUA top pitcher Justin Ayles (Brampton, Ont.). They will be teamed up with players from the Guelph Gryphons, McMaster Marauders, Queen's Gaels, Ryerson Rams, Toronto Varsity Blues, Waterloo Warriors, Western Mustangs, Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks and York Lions.
The OUA-OCAA Baseball All-Star Game will take place following the Toronto Blue Jays game against the Boston Red Sox on May 9 which begins at 1:07 p.m.
PLEASE NOTE: Fans not attending Saturday's Toronto Blue Jays game but wish to attend the OUA-OCAA all-star game can enter Rogers Centre at Gate 8 (south end of stadium) approximately 45 minutes following the conclusion of the Blue Jays game.
