Sunday, Jan. 29.
Durham Men's Basketball
The Durham Lords have put together a five-game win streak,
including a 68-63 road win at second-place Algonquin on Jan. 27.
The Lords followed this up with a 72-64 win at La Cite on Jan. 28
to escape the Ottawa region with a 2-0 record. Second-year forward
Byron Wabano (Moosonee, Ont.) averaged over 10
points in the two victories. He also had eight rebounds against
Algonquin. Durham (9-5) currently sits in a tie for third place in
the OCAA East region.
Niagara Women's Volleyball
The Niagara Knights avenged an earlier loss to second-place
Nipissing with a 3-2 (25-21, 13-25, 25-20, 21-25, 17-15) upset win
on Jan. 28. Niagara followed this performance with a 3-0 (25-18,
25-12, 25-19) win over Canadore on Jan. 29 to move above the .500
mark (7-6) and into fourth place in the OCAA West region. Outside
hitter Jenna Bray (Burlington, Ont.) has been a
great addition to the Knights since the break. She finished the
weekend with 21 kills, five aces, and one block for 27 points.
