CROSS COUNTRY, RUGBY SQUADS HIGHLIGHT OCAA TEAMS OF THE WEEK

TORONTO - The following have been named Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) Teams of the Week for the period ending Sunday, Sept. 25.

Humber Cross Country

The Humber Hawks served notice that they are a team to contend with on the OCAA cross country circuit. Humber won both the women's and overall team titles at the 15th annual Fanshawe College Cross Country Invitational this past Saturday. Vicky Siemon of Humber won the women's 5 km race in a time of 19:07, almost a full minute ahead of the second place finisher.

Algonquin Rugby

Algonquin served up two victories in their OCAA rugby debuts this past weekend. The women's rugby team defeated Fleming-Lindsay 28-0 on the strength of two tries each by Jenna Crothers and Courtney Mastine. Algonquin's men's team defeated Fleming-Lindsay 53-7 thanks in large part to an OCAA record 18 points by Jeremy Nesbitt. This marks the first season that Algonquin has participated in OCAA rugby.
