46 - Number of career goals scored by St. Clair
men's soccer student-athlete Robert Malbasic. He
is one shy of tying the all-time OCAA record of 47 set by OCAA Hall
of Famer Mike Everson of Fleming-Peterborough in
the early 1980s. Malbasic has matches at Mohawk on Friday, and
Redeemer on Saturday.
18 - Number of points earned by Algonquin's men's
rugby student-athlete Jeremy Nesbitt in a 53-7 win
against Fleming-Lindsay on Sunday. The 18 points set a new OCAA
Division II single game record, surpassing the old record of 17
established by Sergio Grice of St.
Lawrence-Kingston in 2008.
67 - Winning score by Durham golfer David
Lang to win the men's individual title at the Niagara
Invitational on Wednesday. Lang edged Humber's Alex
Dumais by one stroke. Lang and Dumais were the only
golfers under par (72) for the 18-hole tournament.
2 - Number of consecutive years Durham golfer
Kayleigh Kraemer has won the women's individual
title at the Niagara Invitational. Kraemer is seeking her second
OCAA individual gold medal, and third overall, at the 2011 OCAA
Golf Championships beginning this Monday.
4 - Number of goals scored by Sheridan women's
soccer student-athlete Paula Simas in a 5-0 win at
Lambton last Saturday. The four goals is the most by one player in
one match so far in 2011, and gives Simas the early lead in the
OCAA scoring race.
3 - The number of first-year OCAA rugby teams
that won their initial regular season matches. Algonquin's men's
team defeated Fleming-Lindsay 53-7; Algonquin's women's team shut
out Fleming-Lindsay 28-0; and Conestoga's women's team edged Seneca
10-7.
53 - Margin of victory, in seconds, that Humber's
Vicky Siemon won the 5 km women's race at the
Fanshawe Cross Country Invitational last Saturday over her closest
rival, Richelle Moore of St. Lawrence-Kingston.
Siemon won in a time of 19:07.
1 - Margin of victory, in seconds, that
Fanshawe's Clint Smith won the 8 km men's race at
the Fanshawe Cross Country Invitational last Saturday over his
closest rival, Sean Sweeney of George Brown. Smith
won in a time of 26:44.
15 - Number of strikeouts by Seneca women's
fastball pitcher Amanda Boismier in a 4-1 victory
over Mohawk last Saturday. Boismier's 15 strikeouts were two short
of an OCAA single game record.
6,605 - Total length, in yards, of the Cornwall
Golf and Country Club course, home of the 2011 OCAA Golf
Championships, taking place Monday through Wednesday.
