Athletic Association (OCAA) Teams of the Week for the period ending
Sunday, Oct. 2.
Algonquin Men's Soccer
The Algonquin Thunder have jumped out to a 3-0-0 start, including a
pair of road wins last weekend. Algonquin has outscored the
opposition 10-0 in its victories. Abdul Ibrahim
leads all Thunder players with four goals. Ibrahim is the reigning
OCAA East region rookie of the year and OCAA all-star. Algonquin is
the No. 4 ranked team in the province.
Redeemer Women's Soccer
Similar to Algonquin's men, Redeemer has jumped out to a 3-0-0
start, all by shutout. The Royals have outscored the opposition 6-0
in its victories. Goaltender Shawna Druif has been
outstanding as the last line of defence for Redeemer. The Royals
are currently ranked No. 5 in the province, trailing first-place
Humber by one win in the OCAA West region. Both teams meet each
other on Wednesday.
