UPSETS HIGHLIGHT OCAA TEAMS OF THE WEEK

Athletic Association (OCAA) Teams of the Week for the period ending
Sunday, Nov. 6.
Sheridan Men's Basketball
The Sheridan Bruins jumped out to a 2-0 start in OCAA regular
season play, including an 87-84 victory over defending OCAA
champion Humber on Nov. 5 in a rematch of last season's gold medal
game. Khalid Abdel-Gabar scored a pair of three
pointers in the final 30 seconds to seal the win for Sheridan. The
Bruins had a 13-5 record last season en route to an OCAA silver
medal.
Fanshawe Women's Basketball
The Fanshawe Falcons did something no OCAA team could do for 55
straight regular season games. Fanshawe defeated Sheridan 77-56 on
the road to open its 2011-12 regular season, ending one of the
great win streaks in OCAA history. Samantha
Highgate scored 15 points in the victory. Fanshawe is now
2-0 to begin the season and sit on top of the OCAA West region
standings.
