823 - Number of career points scored by Durham's
Erin Emery (North Bay, Ont.) in OCAA women's
basketball. Emery is now in sixth place on the all-time OCAA list.
Emery has a shot of becoming just the third women in OCAA history
to eclipse 1,000 points in a career. Durham sits on top of the OCAA
East region with a 2-0 record.
6 - Number of consecutive years Humber has faced
Nipissing in the gold medal match in OCAA women's volleyball. The
rivalry is renewed once again as four-time defending champion
Humber hosts Nipissing this Sunday, with first place on the line in
the OCAA West region.
11 - Number of OCAA member schools that will be
represented at the 2011 Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association
(CCAA) Cross-Country Running National Championships taking place
Saturday at MacArthur Island Park in Kamloops, B.C. George Brown's
Sean Sweeney and Humber's Vicky
Siemon are reigning OCAA champions.
7 - Number of tries Conestoga's Caitlin
Martin (Waterloo, Ont.) has scored in her last two women's
rugby matches, including three in a 35-22 semi-final win at St.
Lawrence-Kingston on Sunday. Conestoga goes for its first-ever OCAA
rugby title on Sunday when it visits Humber.
26 - Number of rebounds nabbed by Algoma's
fifth-year forward Dele Oworu (Winnipeg) in a
87-81 overtime loss at Niagara on Sunday. He also scored 19 points
for a double-double in a losing effort. Oworu currently has 33
rebounds in two games to lead all OCAA players.
2005 - The last time Seneca won an OCAA men's
rugby championship. The Sting won a record five straight titles
from 2001 to 2005. Seneca can win its sixth overall OCAA
championship this Saturday when it hosts Humber in the Division I
gold medal match.
8.2 - Average points per set accumulated by
Humber's third-year player Terrel Bramwell
(Mississauga, Ont.) through two games this season, nearly two
points better than his closest pursuer to lead OCAA. Bramwell is
also averaging 6.83 kills per set to lead all players. Humber hosts
Nipissing on Sunday in a battle of top-ranked teams.
3 - Number of tries scored by Loyalist's
Josh Cowan (Belleville, Ont.) in a 62-14
semi-final win over Georgian last Sunday. Loyalist plays for an
unprecedented third straight OCAA Division II men's rugby title
this Saturday when it hosts Algonquin.
2 - Number of double-doubles, in two games, by
Sheridan guard Nakia Arthur, to begin the OCAA
women's basketball regular season. Arthur has grabbed 12 rebounds
in each game, scoring 18 and 31 points, respectively. Sheridan is
1-1 to begin the season.
0 - Number of OCAA medals won by Trent University.
The Excalibur has an opportunity to break the near decade-long
drought this Saturday as Trent hosts Mohawk in the OCAA Division I
men's rugby bronze medal match. Trent became a member of OCAA in
2002-03.
