Sunday, Nov. 20.
Nipissing Men's Volleyball
The Nipissing Lakers have jumped out to a 6-0 start to begin the
OCAA regular season. In their last three matches, the Lakers have
defeated the reigning 2010-11 OCAA gold, silver and bronze
medalists, all on the road. Nipissing defeated Humber 3-1 (25-19,
25-17, 21-25, 25-23), Mohawk 3-2 (24-26, 25-17. 25-19, 20-25,
15-11) and Redeemer 3-2 (25-22, 25-19, 21-25, 17-25, 15-4).
Duncan Cairns (Georgetown, Ont.) is averaging 3.2
points per set.
Lambton Women's Basketball
The Lambton Lions have put together their first two-game win
streak since returning to OCAA women's basketball for 2011-12.
Lambton defeated Redeemer 77-48 on Friday and Niagara 51-50 on
Saturday. Both games were at home. Lambton now has a 3-3 record in
a tight OCAA West region. Melanie Bouchard is
averaging 10.5 points per game for the Lions. Lambton last played
women's basketball in the OCAA nearly two decades ago.
