between Monday, Nov. 28 and Wednesday, Dec. 7.
St. Lawrence-Kingston Men's Basketball
The St. Lawrence Vikings have put together a three-game win streak
to end the fall semester. St. Lawrence defeated Durham 82-53 at
home on Nov. 30 before road victories at Cambrian (64-46) on Dec. 4
and Fleming-Peterborough (66-58) on Dec. 7. Third-year guard
Terence Thomas (Ottawa) leads the team in scoring
averaging 16.2 points per game. The win streak has lifted St.
Lawrence's record above .500 at 6-4. The Vikings are currently in
fourth place in the East region.
Cambrian Women's Volleyball
The Cambrian Golden Shield became the first OCAA team to reach the
10-win mark with a success road trip to Peterborough, Ont. last
weekend. Cambrian defeated Fleming-Peterborough 3-1 (25-13, 26-28,
25-9, 25-13) on Dec. 3 and Trent 3-0 (26-24, 26-24, 25-5) on Dec.
4. Shawna Metcalf (Azilda, Ont.) is averaging 4.7
points per set to lead OCAA, overtaking Kelsey
Fielding (Sudbury, Ont.) and her 4.5 average. Both players
are fourth-year veterans. Cambrian (10-0) is one of two OCAA teams
that enter the December break undefeated, having lost just five
sets.
