OCAA NAMES NEW EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
LONDON, Ont. - In accordance to its by-laws, the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) elected a new Executive Committee at the OCAA annual general meeting which took place last week at the Delta Armouries in London, Ont.
LONDON, Ont. - In accordance to its by-laws, the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) elected a new Executive Committee at the OCAA annual general meeting which took place last week at the Delta Armouries in London, Ont.
The following individuals will serve a two-year term.
President
Jim Bialek, Humber College
Jim Bialek moves onto the role of OCAA President after previously sitting on the Executive Committee as Vice President Programs and Vice President Marketing and Sport Development for two separate terms.
Jim is the Manager Athletics/Sports Information at Humber College.
Past President
Fred Batley, Fleming College
Fred Batley returns to the role of Past President. Batley is the first two-term president in OCAA history, serving the role from 1993-94 to 1994-95 and again from 2011-12 to 2012-13. Before this, Batley served as a Vice President for six straight years, beginning in 1987-88.
Batley's responsibilities include constitution, membership, academic eligibility and safety and risk management.
Fred is the Athletic Coordinator at Fleming College.
1st Vice President
Michele McConney, Georgian College
Michele McConney remains 1st Vice President of OCAA after returning to the role in 2009-10. McConney was also 1st Vice President for two years beginning in 1999-2000.
McConney's primary responsibilities include the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association and ways and means.
Michele is the Manager of Athletics at Georgian College.

Scott Gray, Sault College
Scott Gray joins the OCAA Executive Committee for the first time, taking over the portfolio vacated by Jim Bialek.
Gray's primary responsibilities include policy and procedures as well as programs.
Scott is the Manager of Athletics at Sault College .

Finance/Awards
Jim Buck, Loyalist College
Jim Buck is also a newcomer to the OCAA Executive Committee, and will oversee finance, academic/athletic bursaries as well as yearly awards.
Jim is the Athletics Director at Loyalist College.

Marketing & Sport
Development
Scott Dennis, Durham College
Scott Dennis remains in his role on the OCAA Executive Committee, overseeing marketing and sport development.
Dennis has also served the marketing role on the Ontario Colleges Committee on Campus Recreation (OCCCR) and as a member of the OCAA Marketing and Sport Development Committee.
Scott is the Sports Information and Marketing Coordinator at Durham College.

Greg Stewart, Wilfrid Laurier University
(Brantford)
Greg Stewart joins the OCAA Executive Committee, chairing the Ontario Colleges Committee on Campus Recreation.
Greg is the Manager, Athletics and Recreation at the Brantford campus of Wilfrid Laurier University.

Blair Webster
Blair Webster has been the OCAA Executive Director since 2004.
