TORONTO – The Durham College men's soccer team earned their first conference win of the year on Wednesday night as they defeated the George Brown Huskies 3-2 in Toronto.
Unfortunately for Durham the win was too little, too late as Wednesday's game was their regular season finale. The team finishes with a 1-5-1 record and in sixth place of the OCAA east region standings ahead of St. Lawrence and George Brown.
Sebastian Dignoti and Phil McKenzie each scored their second goals of the season while Agya Oppong-Kyekyeku scored his first in the win.
The marks the first time in 18 years that the Durham College men's soccer team did not finish with a .500 or better record.
The Lords did not qualify for the postseason and will look to rebound in the 2012 indoor season.
