DURHAM 3, GEORGIAN 0 (FINAL)

OSHAWA, Ont. – Tuesday night's Durham College men's volleyball home opener was one to remember as the Lords swept the Georgian Grizzlies 3-0.

Set scores in the OCAA opening match were 25-21, 25-22 and 26-24.

The Lords clinched the win in style as freshman Bradley Van Hartingsveldt came up with a huge dig that sailed over the net and caught the open court, sending the crowd onto their feet in celebration of the Lords win.

Leading the East Region champions on the scoresheet was captain Steve Clarey who had 11 points including 10 kills in the win.

Aaron Sheerahamed, Jordan McFarlane and Van Hartingsveldt all had six points apiece for Durham.

Mike Hammond led Georgian in scoring with 13 points in the losing effort.

Durham will look to go 2-0 on Friday night against Fleming College. First serve at the CRWC is 8 p.m.
