LOYALIST 3, DURHAM 0 (FINAL)
BELLEVILLE, Ont. – The Durham College men's volleyball team was in unfamiliar territory on Wednesday night as they dropped a 3-0 decision to the Loyalist Lancers in Belleville, Ont.
The first set could have went either way, but Loyalist ended up pulling out a 25-23 victory over the defending East Region champions, which seemed to set the tone of the match. Loyalist would go on to earn 25-17 and 25-22 set victories for the sweep.
Jeremy Hoekstra (Cobourg, Ont.) and Dave McMann (Elmvale, Ont.) were Durham's leading scorers with eight points apiece while Bradley Van Hartingsveldt (Newcastle, Ont.) and Jordan McFarlane (Oshawa, Ont.) had seven.
This was Durham's first loss of the season as they fall to 2-1. Loyalist is 2-0 on the year.
The Lords will host the George Brown Huskies (1-2) on Tuesday night at the CRWC. First serve is at 8 p.m.
