TRENT 3, LA CITE 1 (FINAL)
PETERBOROUGH, Ont. - The Trent Men's Volleyball team came out flying in earning a 3-1 win of the La Cite Coyotes on Friday. Trent took the first set 25-21 and the second set 25-22 before dropping the third 25-18. The Excalibur responded taking the tense fourth set 25-23. The win improves the Excalibur to 4-15 on the season.
Brad Keizerwaard (Holland Landing, Ont.) set the pace for Trent. Keizerwaard had nine kills, one ace and three blocks for a 13 point night. Jurgen Gorenca (Tirana, Albania) added ten kills for the Excaliburm, while Christian Zimmer (Ingleside, Ont.) and Alex Campagnolo (Guelph, Ont.) had eight points each in the winning effort.
La Cite's Andy Rayepa lead all scorers as he counted 19 points on 17 kills and two aces. Keith Marier added 13 kills and 3 aces for the losers.
The Excalibur wrap up the season on February 11 as they host the Algonquin Thunder for a 3pm start. Heading into the match, the Thunder are ranked No. 7 in the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association and are tops in the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association East Division.
