HUMBER SWEEPS ROYAL CUP

ANCASTER, Ont. - The Humber Hawks men's and women's indoor soccer teams swept the Royal Cup on Saturday. The host Royals finished second (women) and fourth (men) in the second annual event.

The Humber women's team finished first in its pool and faced the undefeated Redeemer Royals (first in their pool) in the final. A goal late in the game proved to be the winner for the Hawks as they took the gold by a score of 1-0. Conestoga edged out Sheridan 1-0 in the bronze medal match.

The Humber Hawks men's team took gold with a 3-1 win over rival Sheridan. The Bruins went up 1-0 but three-unanswered goals by the Hawks gave them the victory. Conestoga pulled off a bronze medal with a shootout win against the hometown Royals. The game was tied 1-1 after regulation. Below are the complete results from the tournament:
