ST. CLAIR 3, CANADORE 0 (FINAL)
The St. Clair College women's volleyball team find themselves in a very tight playoff race after play this past weekend.
The Saints travelled to North Bay and came away with a win and a loss.
On Saturday night the Saints defeated the Canadore Panthers by a match score of 3-0. Game scores for St. Clair were 25-19, 25-14 and 25-12. Alee Brecka led the way for St. Clair with 15 kills and 2 digs.
On Sunday afternoon St. Clair lost to the top ranked Nipissing Lakers by a score of 3-0. Game scores were 25-10, 27-25 and 25-15. Katie Zawyrucha had a strong match for the Saints with 4 kills, 3 service aces, 1 block and 7 digs. Nipissing is ranked 3rd in Ontario and 14th in Canada.
With two matches remaining this coming weekend the Saints are right in the middle of the playoff race. They currently sit in 7th place with a record of 6-10. The top six teams make the playoffs. However, St. Clair is just two wins from being in fourth place.
The Saints host the Redeemer Royals on Saturday at 2 pm and the Niagara Knights on Sunday at 2 pm at the St. Clair gym.
