Bio
Debbie Cowgill played just two seasons with the St. Clair Saints, but in doing so established four scoring records that are still her's today.
In Cowgill's first season (1978-79) she led her team in scoring with 240 points. However, the following season was her record-setting year as she averaged an incredible 24.1 points per game, and scored 130 points more than the league's second-place scorer.
Cowgill's accomplishments that season included 433 total points; 52 points in a game; 26 two-point field goals in a game; and 197 two-point field goals in a season. All these marks are records she still holds.
Cowgill was St. Clair's Female Athlete of the Year in 1979-80 and a league all-star. She has been inducted into the St. Clair Athletics Hall of Fame, and in 2000 was named to the OCAA Women's Basketball All-Millennium team.
