SEVEN OCAA BADMINTON PLAYERS EYE SHOT AT WORLDS
MISSISSAUGA, Ont. - Seven past and current Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) student-athletes will take part in the 2012 Canadian National College/University Badminton Championships beginning Friday in Mississauga, Ont.
MISSISSAUGA, Ont. - Seven past and current Ontario Colleges
Athletic Association (OCAA) student-athletes will take part in the
2012 Canadian National College/University Badminton Championships
beginning Friday in Mississauga, Ont.
Badminton players from across the Canadian Collegiate Athletic
Association (CCAA) and Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) will
complete for a spot on Team Canada at the upcoming World University
Badminton Championship in Gwangju, Korea this November.
Headlining OCAA badminton players at this event include 2011-12
men's doubles champions Davyon Reid and
Mark Wong of George Brown; women's doubles
champions Alyssa Wong and Renee
Yip of Humber; men's singles champion Simon
Yip of Humber; and women's singles champion Tracy
Wong of Humber.
Also competing is 2010-11 OCAA men's singles champion
Timothy Chiu.
To increase CCAA representation, the CCAA has provided 2012 CCAA
gold and silver medalists $200 to attend the Canadian National
College/University Badminton Championships.
