MISSISSAUGA, Ont. – Round-robin play wrapped up on Friday at the Dixie Curling Centre as Day 3 of the 2026 OCAA Curling Championships featured another 12 matches.
With the preliminary round complete, the top four teams in both men's and women's divisions have booked their spots in Saturday's semifinals. In mixed doubles, Niagara-1 and Niagara-2 will play for a provincial gold medal.
Men's Curling
The men's standing saw a major shakeup on Friday, with the Sault College Cougars (4-1) leading the division.
Sault scored two critical points with the hammer in the eighth end to secure a 7-5 comeback win over Mohawk. The Cougars followed that performance with another statement win, stealing late without the hammer to edge the host Humber Hawks 5-3.
The Durham Lords (3-2) also put together a strong final day of round robin action to lock up a semifinal berth. The Lords started with an 8-6 comeback win over the Niagara Knights, capped by a three-point steal in the final end. Then they once again proved their ability to score without the hammer in an 8-5 win over Confederation.
Both the Humber Hawks (3-2) and the Mohawk Mountaineers (4-1) did enough to secure their places in the semifinals, with a split result. The Hawks controlled play with the hammer in a 5-2 win over the Thunderhawks, while the Mountaineers closed out the round robin with a 7-4 victory over Niagara.
The Niagara Knights (1-4) and the Confederation Thunderhawks (0-5) missed out on semifinal qualification.
Women's Curling
In the varsity women's division, the standings tightened with three teams finishing with a 4-1 record at the conclusion of round robin play. The Niagara Knights (4-1) are leading the pack.
The Knights cruised past the Durham Lords with an 8-1 win, scoring in multiple ends to pull away. Niagara then went on to grab a statement victory over the previously top-ranked Mohawk Mountaineers. Playing without the hammer, the Knights dominated from the opening end, scoring in each of the first five ends to secure a commanding 9-1 win.
The Humber Hawks (4-1) capitalized on hammer advantage in both of their matches. In draw four, the Hawks had a dominant six-point first end en route to a 12-4 win over Confederation. In draw five, Humber controlled the middle ends to earn a 7-4 victory over Sault.
The Mohawk Mountaineers (4-1) and the Durham Lords (2-3) took care of business against teams lower in the standings. Mohawk cruised past Sault with a 10-1 win and Durham overcame Confederation in a tightly contested, extra-end draw, picking up a 7-6 victory.
The Confederation Thunderhawks (0-5) and the Sault College Cougars (1-4) closed out the championships without advancing, finishing outside the top four.
