DURHAM 5, CONESTOGA 0 (FINAL)
KITCHENER, Ont. – Durham College swept their second doubleheader to begin the season as they defeated Conestoga twice on the road. The Lords won game one by a final score of 11-0 and followed that up with a 5-0 victory in game two.
In four conference games this season, Durham has outscored their opponents 35-1.
Shannon Galea threw a one-hitter in game one, striking out nine batters. The right handed pitcher was throwing a perfect game with one out in the fifth inning, when it was broken up with a single. Galea has not allowed a run in two starts this season for Durham.
Janna Hagan and Brittany Bell each went 2-for-4 at the plate combining for three RBI.
In game two, Kristine Miles won her second conference game of the year pitching a complete game shutout.
Jenna Dupuis and Brittany Bell were both perfect at the plate. Dupuis was 4-for-4 while Bell went 3-for-3.
The Lords are 4-0 heading into a weekday doubleheader at Seneca (3-1) on Tuesday night. That is the Lords last conference action before heading to Windsor for the 2011 Canadian Intercollegiate Women's Fastpitch National Championship which will take place from October 8-10.
Durham won a bronze medal at last year's championship in Saskatchewan.
Durham College is hosting the OCAA provincial championship from October 21-22.
