DURHAM 6, SENECA 0 (FINAL - 7 INNINGS)
NORTH YORK, Ont. – Durham College improved to 6-0 on Tuesday night with a pair of wins over Seneca College in OCAA women's fastball action. The Lords won by scores of 11-1 and 6-0.
The Lords pitching staff of Shannon Galea and Kristine Miles were untouchable once again as they allowed only eight hits and one run in 12 innings of work. Miles won game one allowing only three hits and one run while Galea earned her third straight shutout.
Last week, Galea was named the OCAA top pitcher of the week.
The Lords have outscored their opponents 52-2 in six conference games this season.
In game one, Jessica Pike and Erin McConkey each had a triple and a double while Kristin Servinis and Brittany Bell both had two singles with a RBI.
Durham used singles to score all of their runs in game two as they scored two in the third and four in the fifth.
Kristin Servinis, Jenna Dupuis, Brittany Bell, Janna Hagan, Erin McConkey, Shannon Ferguson, Jessica Pike and Kayla Worotniak all had singles in the game.
This was the Lords last conference action before heading to Windsor for the 2011 Canadian Intercollegiate Women's Fastpitch National Championship which will take place from October 8-10.
Durham won a bronze medal at last year's nationals in Saskatchewan.
Durham College is hosting the OCAA provincial championship from October 21-22.
