REID, WONG NAMED OCAA ATHLETES OF THE WEEK
TORONTO - The following have been named Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) student-athletes of the week for the period ending Sunday, Feb. 19.
TORONTO - The following have been named Ontario Colleges
Athletic Association (OCAA) student-athletes of the week for the
period ending Sunday, Feb. 19.
MALE: Dayvon Reid, George Brown, Badminton
George Brown fourth-year player Dayvon Reid is
now a four-time medalist at the OCAA Badminton Championships,
successfully defending his men's doubles title along with his
partner Mark Wong. The duo did not lose a set at
provincials. Prior to the OCAA Badminton Championships, Reid was
named OCAA men's badminton player of the year. He is also an
all-Canadian, and is a nominee for the Canadian Collegiate Athletic
Association (CCAA) men's player of the year.
FEMALE: Tracy Wong, Humber, Badminton
Humber second-year player Tracy Wong continues to
be the queen of the court, winning her second straight OCAA
badminton women's singles crown. Wong did not lose a set at the
provincials, and remains undefeated in her two years in OCAA. Prior
to the OCAA Badminton Championships, Wong was named OCAA women's
badminton player of the year for the second straight season. She is
now a two-time all-Canadian, and is a nominee for the CCAA women's
player of the year.
