OCAA TEAMS OF THE WEEK
TORONTO - The following have been named Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) Teams of the Week for the period ending Sunday, Feb. 19.

Athletic Association (OCAA) Teams of the Week for the period ending
Sunday, Feb. 19.
Humber Badminton
The Humber Hawks won their third straight OCAA badminton title at
Redeemer on Saturday. All of Humber's competitors earned medals,
including OCAA men's singles champion Simon Yip,
women's singles champion Tracy Wong, and women's
doubles champions Alyssa Woon and Renee
Yip. Earning OCAA bronze medals were Leroy
Stanisclaus in men's singles, Dustin
Mitchell and Johnny Truong in men's
doubles, as well as Hadrian Liu and Suzy
Yan in mixed doubles.
Sault Curling
The Sault Cougars had home rink advantage at the OCAA Curling
Championships, which they used to their advantage. After a 5-3
record in the round robin, the Sault men's team avenged a pair of
earlier defeats to Fleming-Peterborough and undefeated Fanshawe to
win its first OCAA men's curling title since 1992. The women's team
defeated Mohawk in a tiebreaker just to advance to the medal round,
then knocked off a pair of undefeated teams in Seneca and Humber to
win its first OCAA women's crown since 1973.
Seneca Curling
The Seneca Sting defended its OCAA mixed curling title. After a
4-1 record in the round robin, Seneca defeated St. Clair 8-3 in the
semi-final. The Sting then avenged their only loss at the
tournament, defeating Fanshawe 9-2 in the OCAA final on the
strength of five points in the third end. Seneca second
Scott Sawarzky and third Madisson
Lank were named first team all-stars, while lead
Tameka Vaters and skip Matt Lowe
earned second team recognition.
