LA CITÉ 2011-12 ATHLETIC AWARDS
Jose Bruno Mota and Michelle DeRepentigny named La Cite's athletes of the year.
Female Athlete of the Year - Michelle DeRepentigny
Michelle was the pillar between the pipes for the Coyotes this season. She backstopped one of the stingiest defences in the entire OCAA allowing a total of only four goals in eight games (including the playoffs). A whiz in the classroom, Michelle has set the bar high as an example of a true student-athlete for the rest of her team as well as the entire Coyotes organization.
Male Athlete of the Year - Jose Bruno Mota
Bruno has performed at the highest of levels in his sport for three years now. Named an all-Canadian for the second year in a row, he was once again named an OCAA All-Star as he led the Coyotes to the playoffs as well as an undefeated season. His 13 goals in seven games made him the top scorer not only in his division or even in the OCAA but also nationally with the CCAA. With 36 goals in his college career Bruno now ranks third all-time in the OCAA record books.
