NEWLANDS WINS NATIONAL TITLE IN WOMEN'S GOLF
On the women's side, OCAA-1 claimed the top spot at the 2025 PING CCAA National Golf Championships, hosted at Desert Blume Golf Club in Medicine Hat.

With three players on the All-Canadian list, the St. Lawrence Lions brought home the 2025 CCAA men's golf championship banner. After a windy a rainy day in Medicine Hat, Alta., the Lions golfers were able to play through the tough weather and secure the gold to the Lions.
On the women's side, OCAA-1 claimed the top spot at the 2025 PING CCAA National Golf Championships, hosted at Desert Blume Golf Club in Medicine Hat. The team held their lead through all four rounds, finishing with a total score of +31, ahead of RSEQ (+45) and OCAA-2 (+66) to secure the national title.
In men's individual play, Thomas Grenier (Cégep St. Lawrence) dominated the men's leaderboard, finishing at –13 (69-68-68-70) to take home the gold medal. Wyatt Bishop (Medicine Hat College) earned silver at –11, closing with rounds of 72-67-70-68 on his home course. Jadan Patel (SAIT) rounded out the top three with –2, securing bronze.
Grenier's consistent performance across all four rounds set him apart from the field. Bishop, a local standout familiar with the course, climbed steadily through the week and finished just two strokes back of the leader. Patel maintained his strong form through the opening three rounds to secure his place on the podium.
For the women's individual, it was Jordan Newlands (Humber) who captured gold, finishing +15 (77-79-73-74), edging out teammate Susan Chen (Humber) by one stroke at +16 (76-75-75-78). Sofia De Zordo (Cégep St. Lawrence) claimed bronze at +19 (76-75-85-71), highlighted by a strong final-round 71.
Newlands' steady four-day performance secured her national title, while Chen stayed close throughout, keeping the competition tight until the final holes. DeZordo's impressive finish lifted her into third, capping off a strong showing for the Quebec representative.
Steven Hill from St. Clair Saints and Bryden Dilley from Georgian Grizzlies were recognized as the men's and women's Exemplary Leaders of the championship, respectively.
DAY 3 RECAP
Round 3 of the 2025 PING CCAA National Golf Championships wrapped up at Desert Blume Golf Course in Medicine Hat after a beautiful, sunny day for golf.
In the men's team standings, the St. Lawrence Lions continue to lead the field at +3, maintaining their position at the top of the leaderboard. The Humber Hawks follow in second at +14, while SAIT sits third at +24. The Medicine Hat Rattlers remain steady, with the St. Clair Saints, André-Laurendeau Boomerang, Durham Lords, NAIT Ooks, and Northwestern Polytechnic Wolves rounding out the leaderboard.
The men's individual leaderboard remains tight at the top, with Thomas Grenier (St. Lawrence Lions) turning in another terrific round, shooting 68. Wyatt Bishop (MHC) caught up to Jadan Patel (SAIT), and both are tied for second at -7 (209). William Bellavance (St. Lawrence Lions) sits fourth at -3 (213), followed by Jack Gratrix (Humber) in fifth at -2 (214).
In the women's individual standings, Susan Chen (Humber) leads the scoreboard at +10 (226) after three consistent rounds of 76, 75, and 75. Jordan Newlands (Humber) has moved up into second at +13 (229), while Sofia DeZordo (St. Lawrence Lions) sits third at +20 (236). Alexandra Lemay (St. Lawrence) is fourth at +24 (240), and Charlotte Boudreau (André-Laurendeau) rounds out the top five at +27 (243).
DAY 2 RECAP
The second round of the 2025 PING CCAA National Golf Championships wrapped up today at Desert Blume Golf Course in Medicine Hat. After a windy start of the day, the golfers got the enjoy the sun and some great conditions for golf throughout the day.
In the men's team standings, Cégep Champlain St. Lawrence climbed into first place at even par, followed closely by Humber Polytechnic (+7). SAIT, the first-round leader, dropped to third at +10, while Medicine Hat College and St. Clair College are tied for fourth at +28. Cégep André-Laurendeau follows in sixth at +36, with Durham College (+54), NAIT (+56), and Northwestern Polytechnic (+71) rounding out the leaderboard.
On the women's team side, OCAA 1 continues to lead at +19, followed by RSEQ (+24) and OCAA 2 (+31). ACAC 1 sits fourth, followed by ACAC 2 and ACAC 3.
In the men's individual competition, Thomas Grenier (St. Lawrence) holds the lead at -7 (R1 69, R2 68), just one stroke ahead of Jadan Patel (SAIT) at -6 (70,68). Wyatt Bishop (Medicine Hat College) surged into third place at -5 (72,67) after a strong second round. The Medicine Hat local and Desert Blume course record holder used his home-course advantage to climb the leaderboard. Jack Gratrix (Humber) and William Bellavance (St. Lawrence) are tied for fourth at -1 (143).
In the women's individual standings, Sofia DeZordo (St. Lawrence) and Susan Chen (Humber) remain tied for first at +7 (151). Jordan Newlands (Humber) sits third at +12 (156), followed by Charlotte Boudreau (André-Laurendeau) at +15 (159) and Alexandra Lemay (St. Lawrence) at +18 (162).
Round 3 begins tomorrow at Desert Blume Golf Course with a promising sunny and warm day for the golfers.

Michael McCullough (Humber) and Édouard Laflamme (St. Lawrence) are tied at -1 (71), and Wyatt Bishop (Medicine Hat College) sits tied for seventh at E (72).
For the women's individual competition, it's a three-way tie for first as Susan Chen (Humber), Ava Bechard (Humber), and Sofia DeZordo (St. Lawrence) each carded +4 (76). Jordan Newlands (Humber) follows closely at +5 (77), with Jade Lecompte (John Abbott) in fifth at +6 (78).
