TORONTO - The following have been named Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) basketball student-athletes of the week for the period ending Sunday, Nov. 6.

Athletic Association (OCAA) basketball student-athletes of the week
for the period ending Sunday, Nov. 6.
MALE: Khalid Abdel-Gabar, Sheridan
Third-year guard Khalid Abdel-Gabar (Mississauga,
Ont.) drained a pair of three pointers in the final 30 seconds to
give Sheridan a 87-84 victory over Humber in a rematch of last
season's OCAA gold medal game on Nov. 5. He also led all players
with 22 points while contributing 13 rebounds for a double-double
in a 88-79 home win over Fanshawe on Nov. 2. Abdel-Gabar totaled 37
points in both games.
FEMALE: Rachelle Abella, Mohawk
Second-year guard Rachelle Abella (Hamilton, Ont.)
has led Mohawk to a 2-0 start on the young OCAA regular season.
Abella led the Mountaineers with 11 points in a 49-39 road victory
at Humber on Nov. 1, and followed this up with a 26-point effort in
a 73-69 home win against St. Clair on Nov. 4. She also contributed
eight rebounds, five assists and five steals against St. Clair.
