MOHAMMUD, ARTHUR NAMED OCAA BASKETBALL ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

TORONTO - The following have been named Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) basketball student-athletes of the week for the period ending Sunday, Nov. 20.

MALE: Sham Mohammud, Fleming-Peterborough

First-year point guard Sham Mohammud (Ottawa) earned a double-double in Fleming's 67-64 overtime win at Algonquin on Nov. 19. Mohammud scored 13 points and added 11 assists as Fleming-Peterborough (3-2) handed Algonquin its first loss of the regular season. Mohammud scored 10 points in a 63-56 loss to undefeated Centennial on Nov. 16, and 11 points in an 84-55 win at La Cite on Nov. 18.

FEMALE: Nakia Arthur, Sheridan

Fourth-year guard Nakia Arthur (Brampton, Ont.) posted some big numbers in Sheridan's two victories in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., over the weekend. Arthur was one rebound shy of a double-double, scoring a game-high 32 points in a 64-58 win at Algoma on Nov. 19. Arthur added a game-high 24 points in a 74-44 win at Sault on Nov. 20. Sheridan (4-1) has now won four straight, including three on the road.
