The Niagara College Knights basketball teams lost a double-header to the Humber Hawks in Etobicoke on Friday night.
The women's team, who were coming off a big home win against Sheridan on Wednesday, were defeated 52-35 by the Hawks. The Knights men's team, who were also coming off a big home win against Sheridan, did not fair any better losing 80-50 to the Hawks.
The Knights men's team had their five game winning streak come to an end as they shot a dismal 13 percent from behind the arc, and 20 percent from the field in their loss to the three-time defending OCAA champions.
"Humber is a very strong team, and they simply outplayed and outworked us," said head coach Steve Atkin. "Hopefully, we can learn from this experience as we head into the second half of the season."
The loss drops the Knights record to 7-2. They are now tied with Humber and Fanshawe for first-place in the OCAA West Region.
The Knights will play an exhibition game on Tuesday night before exams and the Christmas break.
On Tuesday, they are in Buffalo to square off against the Erie Community College Kats. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
