OTTAWA – Durham College earned their fifth straight conference victory on Saturday afternoon as they defeated the La Cite Coyotes 72-64 in OCAA men's basketball.
After falling behind 21-20 after one quarter, Durham's defence went into high-gear holding La Cite to just nine points in the second. The Lords took a three point lead into the locker room at half time.
Durham continued to play hard in the second half as they outscored La Cite 39-32 to earn an eight-point victory, their ninth of the year.
Rob Gagliardi (Whitby, Ont.) finished with a team high 25 points in the win. Kevin Honig (Sarnia, Ont.) recorded 21 points while Byron Wabano (Moosonee, Ont.) earned 12.
Durham (9-5) is tied for third place in the OCAA east region with the St. Lawrence Vikings (9-5).
The Lords will host the first place Centennial Colts (13-1) on Tuesday, January 31 at 8 p.m.
