ST. CLAIR 73, CANADORE 65
St. Clair (4-12) defeated Canadore (1-17) by a score of 73-65.
St. Clair third-year forward Alex Temesy (Amherstburg, Ont.) was the difference starting well and finished equally as good making three triples in the first and fourth quarters that allowed his team to outpace Canadore.
Temesy flirted with the St. Clair record of eight three-point makes in a game shooting 7-of-10 from the beyond the arc. He added seven rebounds to go with his game-high 25 points. St. Clair did suffer a lull in scoring in the middle portion of the game and Canadore capitalized by shooting a remarkable 24-of-28 from the free throw line. Canadore actually led 44-43 early in the third quarter but the Saints managed to finish the frame in front 52-50 and hung on down the stretch.
The Saints had four players in double figures with Aaron Evans (Windsor, Ont.) scoring 13 while David Younan (Leamington, Ont.) recorded another double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Matt Nuna (Windsor, Ont.) chipped in with 10 points adding six assists. Canadore's Jevon Marshall had 17 points and nine rebounds to lead his team in a losing effort.
St. Clair next hosts Mohawk Friday in a doubleheader featuring the women's game at 6 p.m. and the men tipping at 8 p.m. St. Clair will celebrate its graduating players across all varsity programs with a a brief presentation between games at approximately 7:40 p.m.
Redeemer visits Saturday for doubleheader with the women at 1 p.m. and the men at 3 p.m. in the final regular season home games of the year.
