LONDON, Ont. - The Fanshawe men's basketball team hosted the Cambrian Golden Shield in their first regular season game of the season. The Falcons won the game with a final score of 88-38.
After the first five minutes of the game, the biggest lead was only four. With the score 13-12, Fanshawe finished the quarter on a 16-0 run, to take a 28-13 lead into the second quarter.
Fanshawe took control early in the second quarter, starting out with another 20 straight points, making the scoring run 36-0. The Falcons held Cambrian to five points in the quarter, and took a 52-18 lead into half. Fanshawe's Chavaun Miller-Bennett led all players with 10 points at the break.
The Falcons won both the third and fourth quarters on route to the 50 point win. It was a balanced attack for Fanshawe with five different Falcons scoring in double figures. Dexton Freemantle led the way with 11 points and 12 rebounds.
The Falcons host the Cambrian Golden Shield again tomorrow, Sunday, Oct. 26 at 3 p.m.
