WINDSOR, Ont.t. - The St. Clair men's basketball team dropped an 82-66 decision to Redeemer this afternoon at the campus gym.
Struggling early and often the Saints fought to stay close through two quarters and trailed 39-31 shooting only 34 percent at the break. But St. Clair managed only nine points in the third quarter and was down by as much as 20 points midway through the fourth quarter.
With a short bench Redeemer was able to avoid foul trouble where St. Clair had two players exit early with the maximum including Matt Nuna (Windsor, Ont./Catholic Central) who struggled to find his rhythm scoring only seven points but did have six assists.
Alex Temesy (Amherstburg, Ont./General Amherst) led the Saints with 15 points to go with five rebounds and five steals. Benn Ibrahim had a game-high 29 points for Redeemer to lead his team to victory with all five members of the starting group reached double figures.
The St. Clair men's basketball team will host Lambton College (Sarnia) Friday at the campus gym with tip time at 8 p.m.
