TORONTO, Ont. – After dropping out of the CCAA rankings this week, the Durham College men's basketball team had a solid finish to the first half of the OCAA season.
The Lords, on the road against George Brown, picked up an 85-54 win over the Huskies.
Durham trailed 16-15 after the first quarter, but took a 36-31 lead into halftime.
In the third quarter they held the Huskies to seven points, increasing their lead to 14 points before the final 10 minutes. Durham closed the game with a huge 33-point quarter, while holding George Brown to 16.
Durham College athlete of the week, Ajahmo Clarke (Ajax, Ont.), led the Lords with 31 points. Dylan Pelissero (Oshawa, Ont.) added 12, while Aaron Hayles (Pickering, Ont.) and Darian Rowe (Maple, Ont.) picked up 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Akai Nettey led George Brown's offence with 18 points.
The next OCAA regular season game for the Lords is Jan. 9 at home against Seneca.
