NORTH BAY, Ont. - The No. 14-ranked Durham College men's basketball team continues to sit atop the OCAA east region after defeating the Canadore Panthers 85-72 on Saturday.
The victory pushes their win streak to five games, but Tuesday the Lords will be in tough as they face one of only two teams to hand them a regular season loss.
Durham's first loss of the season came Nov. 21 at home against the Georgian Grizzlies, while the Centennial Colts handed them their first road loss just two games later on Nov. 29. Since that game the Lords haven't suffered a loss in league play, going 5-0, while the Colts are 2-2.
A big reason for that are the likes of Ajahmo Clarke (Ajax, Ont.) and Eric Smith (Ajax, Ont.). In Saturday's win over the Panthers, Clarke led the team with 26 points, seven rebounds and six assists. Smith added 23 points, seven rebounds and six assists.
Isse Ibrahim led the Panthers with 14 points and eight rebounds.
Tip-off for the Lords on Tuesday is 8 p.m. at the CRWC. The women's game goes at 6 p.m.
