OCAA MEN’S RUGBY SECOND SEASON BEGINS FRIDAY
TORONTO - Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) men’s rugby enters its second season starting Friday, as six teams vie for a spot in the OCAA semi-finals.

rugby enters its second season starting Friday, as six teams vie
for a spot in the OCAA semi-finals.
The bottom four teams in Division I, and the fourth and fifth place
teams in Division II will battle it out for berths in their
respective semi-finals next weekend.
The top remaining seeds host OCAA men's rugby gold medal games the
weekend of Nov. 12-13.
Conestoga (0-5-0, 6th Division I) at Trent (3-2-0, 3rd
Division I)
Friday, Oct. 28 - 7 p.m.
Trent hosts Conestoga in the first Division I qualifier on
Friday.
Both teams squared off in their regular season game last Saturday
at Conestoga, a match won by Trent 40-19. Tyler
Bromshaw scored a pair of tries in a winning cause.
Graham Abbott led Trent with 26 points during the
regular season, all on converts. Lucas McIvor led
Conestoga in scoring with two tries.
Fleming-Peterborough (1-4-0, 5th Division I) at Mohawk
(2-3-0, 4th Division I)
Saturday, Oct. 29 - 12 p.m.
The Fleming Knights and Mohawk Mountaineers had a closely fought
match in their regular season meeting on Oct. 1, won by Mohawk
8-5.
Ross Isbister's penalty kick proved to be the
different in the victory. He also scored a try for Mohawk.
Shane Cunningham scored Fleming's lone try.
Joel Clarke was the leading scorer for Mohawk
during the regular season, with 24 points on one try, five converts
and three penalty kicks. Ian Fuchs was the leading
point getter on Fleming with 11, earning four converts and one
penalty kick.
Fleming-Lindsay (0-4-0, 5th Division II) at Georgian
(1-3-0, 4th Division II)
Saturday, Oct. 22 - 1 p.m.
In a match-up of two teams that have struggled this season,
Fleming-Lindsay looks to avenge a 38-17 loss on home turf to
Georgian on Oct. 5. It was Georgian's only win during the regular
season.
Georgian's Matt Cotter, Gary
Smith and Chris Wood all scored two tries
each in the victory. Matt Fair responded with a
pair of tries for Fleming.
Both Wood and Fair were leading scorers with their respective
schools during the regular season with 14 points.
