They played different opponents, but Mohawk's rugby teams both suffered defeats at Mohawk Sports Park Saturday (Oct. 13).
The Georgian Grizzlies downed the Mountaineers 31-7 in men's play and the Seneca Sting defeated Mohawk 48-5 in women's.
In the men's game, Richard Nelson got the lone try for Mohawk, which was converted by Dylan Ritchie.
Georgian, which led 19-0 at the half, got tries from Chris Wood, Robin Calamatta, Derek Trowell and Chuck Curran. Steve Sasseville had four converts and Jesse Twigg, a penalty.
Georgian is now 3-1-1 while Mohawk falls to 0-4.
In the women's game, the lone score for Mohawk was Samantha Benoit's try.
For Seneca, Geneva Hug and Kimmee Meigs each had two tries. Jennifer Wedlock had one try and four converts making her the game's top scorer with 13 points.
Others scoring tries for the sting were Savanna Briscoe, Carleigh Andonovski and Shauna James.
Seneca improved its record to 3-2, while Mohawk dropped to 0-4.
