GEORGIAN 38, MOHAWK 14
BARRIE, Ont. - The Georgian Grizzlies men's rugby team overcame an early deficit on Sunday to improve their record to a perfect 2-0 on the season after defeating the Mohawk Mountaineers 38-14 at home.
After falling behind to an early 7-0 lead, Georgian responded scoring three consecutive tries to take a 19-7 lead into the half.
The second half played very similar with Mohawk pressing early to get back into the game with an early try to pull within one score.
The Grizzlies yet again responded with three straight tries and held off the Mountaineers the rest of the way to earn their second win of the season.
Georgian's Anderson Do (Mississauga, Ont.) continued his impressive play in his rookie season scoring two tries and adding four converts. Fellow rookie CJ Menecola (Alliston, Ont.) had two tries while second year veterans Devon Jackson (Angus, Ont.) and Tyler Thornhill (Midland, Ont.) had the other tries for the Grizzlies.
Jeffery Paul (Simcoe, Ont.) and William Gemmell (Brantford, Ont.) scored tries for Mohawk.
The Grizzlies head out on the road to face the Sheridan Bruins (0-2) next Saturday afternoon. Georgian's next home game is on Tuesday, Oct. 14 when they host to the rematch against Sheridan.

BARRIE, Ont. - The Mohawk men's rugby team travelled to Barrie, Ont., on Sept. 21 and bowed 38-14 to Georgian. CJ Menecola and Anderson Do each had two tries for the Grizzlies. Do added four converts.
Junior Paul and Billy Gemmell had tries and Jacob Kit hoofed two converts for the Mountaineers who next play at Humber on Sept. 27.
